Q and A for Media Awareness

1. What happened and is happening?
- I just watched Juno

2. What are my journalistic goals?
- Well, number one, spread this to who knows where so that everyone may partake in the lovely artform of film rolled into one dvd called Juno. Number two, encourage intellectual discussion with my peers and colleagues. And number three, get to know other films that are worthwhile.

3. Ethical Concerns?
- Due to some of the content in the beginning, i'm worried that people may take my advertisement of the film the wrong way. I'm also concerned that they wouldn't get the dark humor and instead of intellectual conversation, bashing the film would be the order of social talk.

4. Do I need more point of views? and what are they?
- Yes I do. Perhaps I need to realize that everything is not like the way I see it. Discussion that would not go the way I planned can actually be instructive and I'd actually learn from other people. Also, by listening to others' views whether positive or not, I can scratch farther than the surface.

5. Stakeholders?
- The people around me because infecting them with my enthusiasm for the film may actually defer their attention from something important. They would also probably take the issue of the movie too seriously or personally.

6. Consequences
- The consequences can either be bad or good. The good means facilitating conversation and art appreciation. The bad meaning taking things too personally or just diverting true priorities and the like.

7. In the shoes of the others (a.k.a. people who do not appreciate this type of art and genre)
- I'd probably shrug it off. We all have our own preferences. It just so happens that i did not like this particular film. That doesn't mean that I start to bash others' preferences.

8. What is right?
- Encouraging diversity and respecting others' opinions will always bring the best in something.

9. Alternatives
- Suggest other movies, help others do their work first, avoid touchy subjects...

10. Justify your decision
- This would help peace spread. And I don't mean it in a hippy sorta way. Respecting the opinions and ideas of others certainly brought out the best in many aspects such as government and the like. Plus, fun always has to come after work. Its best to get it all done before jumping to something not worthwhile. Also, taboo topics might not be best. If stimulating intellectual conversations is the primary reason, its best not to cross the personal line to avoid offending someone.
