THE OTHER ARTICLE

"Loy Krathong" in Thailand
by Rina Jimenez-David

Thais celebrated Loy Krathong, the Festival of Lights, during which Thais head off rivers, canals, lakes or any body of water to lay down floating disks filled with candles and flowers supposedly to let all of the bad luck of the past year float away, to be replaced by good fortune.

Our group of Filipino journalists had the bad luck of arriving in Bangkok about a week early for Loy Krathong but we too had a chance of observing the feast thanks to our friends from Siam Cement Group under whose auspices we had visited their country.

On arrival in Bangkok, we hurriedly dropped of our bags at the Pathumwan Princess which strategically has a corridor leading out of the hotel direct ti MBK, a six-story shopping center known for its dizzying arrays of goods and very competitive prices, for just one and a half hour's worthy of frantic shopping. Then we were bused to River City where we were to board a river boar for a dinner cruise and some entertainment.

Later that evening fortified by a Thai buffet and dazzling traditional Thai dances, our hosts introduced Loy Krathong to us, instructing us that we were to light the candle and sparklers, set into the disks of banana stalks and surrounded by flowers after which a boat hand would scoop our lit krathongs and lower them into the waters of the Chao Phraya River.

I'm told that during Loy, meaning to float, Krathong, the Chao Phraya makes for a lovely sight as thousands of candles float downriver carrying the wishes, prayers and vows of contrition of the people. After I watched my own personal krathong float away, a fellow journalist teasingly asked what else there was I had to wish for. I wished that I would see my grandchildren soon, I informed him, though given my children's states if the heart, soon might take longer than I wish!

Everywhere we went, there were unmistakable signs of Thailand;s booming tourism industry, long the envy of its neighbors. Philippine tourism authorities are rightly proud of the country's breaking the one million mark as far as tourism arrivals go. But that's still quite a distance from Thailand's annual 12 million tourists, many of them from the US and Europe, though we also spotted a number of Chinese and even Russians.

Those of us who were visiting Thailand for the first time wanted to know what was Thailand's secret. After all, it is like the Phils., warm and muggy, if not raining, for much of the year. Bangkok is still seized by horrific traffic jams at all times of the day. And when it is raining, the streets likewise fill up with water, But the tourists keep arriving- even if Thais have to struggle with their English. At the year old Suvarnabhumi Airport, the info boards were lit up by announcements of arrivals and departures of hundreds of flights from all parts of the world. Clearly, Thailand's open skies policy is paying off.

Well for one thing, Thais seem to have the tourist game all figured out. While there are tourist police who take special care to prevent petty crimes, there's little to worry about as Bangkok boasts a very low 3% street crime rate. And even as we boast of Filipino hospitality, the Thais have their own unique gentleness and good humor to see them through.

A prime example of Thailand's careful planning not just to lure tourists but to keep them entertained was the evening we spent at Siam Niramit or Magical Siam.

Siam Niramit is a stage presentation that brings the audience back to the ancient kingdoms of Siam, which became Thailand only after the war, and thence to the realm of myth and folk festivals. This it does through the magic of special affects, flying Buddhist angels, a river onstage, alive elephant, even goats, and the energetic performances of a cast of 150 actors, dancers, musicians and even a comedian or two.

Before the show, guests are treated to a buffet dinner and then a showcase of traditional Thai life, though on the evening we were there, the rains prevented us from visiting the live tableau€s.

As if the two hour shows wasn't enough, as we exited the theater, we found costumed dancers and acrobats, elephants and other animal life, ready for photo ops. Even if one has just a day to spend in Bangkok, a visit to Siam Niramit, is enough of an introduction to this amazing country.

Of course, no account of a visit to Thailand would be compete without mentioning the food.

On our first dinner aboard the riverboat, the buffet featured traditional Thai dishes; and Aemrudee, who is with SCG's corporate affairs group, insisted we all try the fish cakes wrapped in banana leaves. Later during dessert, an SCG official urged us all to try the ice cream made from young coconut, so light and refreshing a treat after the spicy fair!

The next day, over lunch at the SCG guest house, under the benevolent eye of King Rama VI, founder of SCG, we were treated to a Chinese lauriat that featured, among other treats, Peking duck and noodle soup that came in bowls each with its own mini-burner. During lunch at the Wangsala Complex outside the city the next day, Aemrudee proudly presented us with durian, which, she said, is not in season and so was rather expensive at this time of year. We took it with sticky rice and coconut cream, a most delicious, calorific dessert!

For our final dinner, our guide brought us to the top of the tallest bldg in Thailand, the Baiyoke Tower, opened in 1998, with a restaurant in the 78th floor, that offers a fantastic Asian buffet. After dinner, we took a secret ride on the service elevator to the 84th floor to an open-air revolving deck that affords one the best views of Bangkok at night.

THANK GOD I AM DONE>>>> JOOOOBE!!!

Sorry for the long wait!!! Here it is.... been away on Christmas shopping duties :D

CRAP... its long...

A Necessary Sacrifice by Isagani Cruz

Save only for the Japanese Occupation Gov't that was imposed upon us not by our own countrymen but by a foreign invader, the most oppressive invader established in the Philippines after the revolution of 1896 was the Marcos despotism that bled the nation white with the avarice of its rulers.

Next only to that evil period is the present administration of Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo that has deliberately foisted upon us a calamity envenomed by unprecedented and insolent corruption that we have tolerantly chosen to to prevent, rectify or penalize.

The first Philippine Republic had little experience in actual government because of the American invasion. The administration of the governor-generals was on the whole honest and hopefully exemplary. During the Commonwealth era and in the early years of the present Republic, rumors of corruption were merely whispered and comparatively minor.

After the Marcos rapine, succeeding administrations under Aquino, Ramos and even the disreputable Estrada, the complaints against governmental venality were not as indignant and demanding as they are now.

In our tattered history, GMA has become the most unpopular Chief Executive, barring all other former tenants of the Palace of the People. The major issue against her is the crookedness of her administration.

When Estrada was ousted by direct action of Edsa 2, there was a widespread feeling of relief and a sense of confidence in VP GMA as his constitutional replacement. Although her public record then was not eminently encouraging, she was at least reputedly honest, let alone her impressive academic credentials.

The first suspicions about her credibility began when she promised in 2003 that she wouldn't run for presidency, which she was then occupying without a direct grant from the electorate. She blandly violated that vow in the last presidential election, claiming she was just responding to what she called the public demand. That excuse was hardly audible, or believable.

Her conduct during the campaign was far from presidential. She sang and danced like Nora Aunor whom many say she resembled. She donned the costumes of the indigenous tribes and ate with her fingers like the rural people to show she was one of them. She was unlike Sergio Osmena Sr. who did not leave his work in Malacanang to campaign in 1946 or Manuel L. Quezon who symbolically planted rice for the photographers but wisely wore botas instead of wading with his bare feet in the muddy farmlands. She was more like present-day politicians in their cheap courtship of the masses.

After her victory, irate reports of poll malefactions cast a shadow on her title as the now elected Pres. of the Phils. The Garci tapes surfaced to reveal secret conversations that suggested the doctoring of election returns in her favor. As her voice was identifiable, she admitted her lapse in judgment: but denied there was any scheme to falsify the election. She then dismissed the inconclusive investigations in Congress and asked the people to forget the tapes so we can move on as she put it. There were other reported anomalies that raised doubts about her election. Money and various goodies flowed liberally from the party in power allegedly from government sources. Still unexplained is the disposition of the P728-million fertilizer fund alleged to have been used to buy votes for her. Equally serious is the suspected role of the admin. in the escape of Undersec. Jocelyn Bolante who was in charge of the fund , to prevent him in making damaging revelations before the Senate blue ribbon committee.

On top of all the many irregularities suspected to directly involve Pres. Arroyo herself and her husband was the malodorous ZTE contract from which hundreds of millions of pesos are said to have been shared sub rosa by the favored gov't officials. And there is also the admitted distribution substantial amounts of crisp cash as gifts or assistance or bribes to selected national and local officials. She has denied any hand in this financial orgy that took place in Malacanang itself, in her own official residence.

The contagion defiling all levels of our gov't, beginning from the Office of the Pres. down to the lowly brgy., remains unchecked and continues to purify like an incurable malignancy. Even the World Bank is investigating our loan applications because of reported frauds in our gov't operations. We are looked down in the international community as a nation of weakling who have no backbone to resist the sordid leadership preying upon us like an unavoidable wraith.

The scandals tarnishing Ms. Arroyo's administration are more than enough to convince her that she is honor-bound to resign and leave the running gov't to leaders who enjoy the people's confidence in their competency and integrity. She may yet redeem her name in history by making this necessary sacrifice for the salvation of our contaminated country.

Crying without tears

Dude, there's this rift between Joey de Leon and Willie Revillame about cheating and stuff. For more details and evidence, see youtube and type in wowowee scam. Dude, that is so freaky. I am so not in the mood to post right now coz im still fitting every cation and anion into my tiny little head. So there. Willie has got to learn to cry. I mean its all nice and stuff to help little kids or poor people. It's very touching but you don't have to cry every single time! And tearless, at that! Dude, that is just sooo plastic. Joey de Leon has got to learn to be discrete sometimes. But hey! Who doesn't enjoy the drama right? Haha

Je nais comprends pas.

Anyway, yesterday, we went out to Shang, oh yeah, the sale is up to the 31st of August so you can go catch the madness the whole month. Back to the story, I was in Debenhams and I saw this really cute dress as in major fire sign. It was so pretty!!!!! I tried it on and we were soooooooooooooo meant for each other...... Piece of crap eaten by a hobo lying in a gutter! Anyway, point is I didn't buy it. It was too much for a cotton dress. The price, I mean. OHMYGOD! I am so gonna look for a dress in Glorietta. We saw a dress like the one in Debenhams in Rustan's. It was the same awesome print. It was the same stoooooopid price! AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

Joycam told me 'bout our tickets for FOB.... we're in the 16th row from the 1st. That's so cool. Better wear high heels! Don't want heads messin up my day!

My computer monitor is jammed. WAS jammed. Then I fixed it. We were fixing it using the menu you can find on the monitor. You know, all those irritating buttons and they didn't work. Much to my surprise, when I gave up, I looked at the back and there it was, a loose integrated circuit in an expansion port.

See what you get when you've been memorizing a whole lot of computer thingamajigs!?!?!?!??

I watched big daddy. The movie with my man Adam Sandler. The little kid there is actually Dylan and Cole Sprouse.... Suite Life.... They or he is sooooo cute!!!!!!!! Big Daddy almost made me cry.... aww.... I love that movie.... gives me goosebumps of emotion. Ewww... Emotion...

Junior Joolapy

nice... jullapy... that ain't a word...

this is the only time of day or night I am allowed by my hectic life to write on my blog or even breathe. Thank God! I've been holding my breath since the start of the school year. The whole week last week (*what the?) I had meetings until 5. How's that for d.a.m.n.? That's the price of service. You don't pay with a credit card or some Benjamins (hundred-dollar bills). You pay with time, sacrifice and blisters on your nice delicate feet. Haaaaaaa.... Savor the moment, breathe... You never know when you're not gonna breathe sweet sweet oxygen-mixed-with-other-substances-in-the-air-which-makes-it-a-heterogeneous-substance.... while there's time.... THIRD YEAR IS UBER HARD>>>>>>>>>>> I am about to gouge my eyes out! That's about it for now... Have to do some school stuff... Okay, getting ready to hold my breath again. Ciao....

A Week of Crazy

I'll make up my own week for the sake of entertainment... my whole week wasn't interesting... so I'll just cut and paste some stuff from last and this week... plus, this week ain't over yet

1. Tuesday- Ian finished God of War.... In two days!!!!! Whoa, man... that is bloody incredible!!!!! Even I can't get through Barnyard... Okay, I admit it. I play Barnyard.... That is just sad...

2. Monday- We went to a mall, bought lots of stuff in just under 2 hours and then ran out... literally... My mom was going crazy when my dad finished a meeting earlier than expected so we ran through people... It was just madness!

Okay, you know what? I'll cut it short... Some other stuff I really wanna mention is "unmentionable" =D

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

1. Asia wins- PCD, Already told you 'bout that a long time ago
2. Jeffrey wins- Project Runway
3. Danielle wins- ANTM (props to Joanie)
4. Harry dies- Harry Potter

No, I'm just kidding, Harry doesn't die... I just wanted a fourth thing... scared the crap outta you didn't I???

Okay... School will start soon and I was scanning through my books... D.A.M.N.... They sure are hard.... Now I really HAVE TO study....

That's all for now.... Ciao!

The View

I wish The View was shown here in the Philippines. I guess Rosie's just blocking most of the view out. Anyway, what the heck is wrong with Ro? She is such a bully. Barbara Walters, I think, is such a push-over. Props to Elisabeth Hasslebeck! Really like her. Especially when she was on The Look for Less. Now we're stuck with America's Un-Top Model Yoanna. I have had braces on already for a month now and there's wire sticking out of the end of it. I already wounded myself because of the stinkin' wire. Noooo!!!! School's back in about 2 weeks. That's sad. It'll begin at the same time the Public schools will begin. Nothing against that it's just weird. Talkin about school, there's gonna be a hell of a lotta traffic, one thing that tells you we're still in the Philippines. Flips really love messes don't they? First you got pollution, politics and now shortages. That just sucks. We've had 2 black-outs already since the day before yesterday. I so love FOB. Pete Wentz... haha (did i spell it right?) DVDs are a little short on the fun department. A lotta crappy stuff emerging. Shrek (Oh yeah, I watched Conan and his guest was Mike Myers and it was soooo funny. When he was invited to play Shrek the director was like "Hey Mike, you wanna be in an animated film?" Mike said "Yeah sure" Director said "It's called Shrek" Anyway, you wouldnt understand. It's really a lot funny.) and Spidey was CRAPPY... but Pirates is funny... I wanna watch Knocked Up, Kat Heigl's mov. Natalie Portman and the Samberg guy from SNL are going steady. Haha... I've seen a lot of Flip Celebs lately. In the last week I saw Heart E, Jericho R. (note: I saw them 4 times already this summer... freaky, man), Roxanne G, Maike Evers, Marjorie B and guess who, the Pichay guy (I don't remember his first name) all on the same mall, Powerplant. Pichay was talking to some salespeople. I think he was gonna buy an Audi... cool.... I saw the Lifestyle network special on Natalie Wood and I saw Robert Wagner, he is kinda cute in his day. Now he's all old. Coz he is. Anyway, you might have seen him in Austin Powers, he's Number Two (I think). Hahahahhahahha.... That's all for now.... Ciao

The Whole Summer Spells Armaggedon For Me

Okay... Summer is a major bummer. I seriously have nothing to do. With that said, I guess its common sense that I did absolutely nothing this summer. Hahaha... I'm bored beyond belief, man. That's just wack. I'm nearing the point of forcing my eyes out. I, without a doubt, did NOT have fun this summer. Learning French is way way hard. Plus, I believe that a shortage of malls in the Metro Manila area is apparent. I've been to every, and I mean, EEE-VVV-EEE-RRRRRR-YYYYYYYY Mall in this city plus others surrounding it. I've assessed it totally from top to bottom.

1. Rockwell- not as cool as I thought! Dude! They totally messed it up. It's just wrong. When you go up to the second floor, it's like Beverly Hills. Only way you're gonna get merch from that area is if you robbed a bank. Talk about Nine West, Jessica, that kinda stuff. Plus you have your not-so-designer designer stuff which is still expensive for the normal citizen like Bass, Naturalizer. There are still a lot of empty spaces. They're setting up a National Bookstore up there. Beside Aranaz, I think.

2. Shang-ri La- Ghost Town. When do they get new stocks and designs? I've been there and nothing much changed. Oh sorry, excuse me. Nothing changed.

3. Podium- I love!!!!! CAFE BRETON!!!!!!! The crepes are just splendid!!!! Hahaha! I said the word splendid. They had a photo gallery there about the world press and it was so cool. I go there just to hang and walk around. Not much in it. I love the cinema. We watched a movie there and it was just us and another family. How sad is that! Haha... I love Cafe Breton.

4. The Block- I have to admit, it is not as bad as I would expect it to be. I love the atmosphere. Although, it is kinda small. Way too small.

5. Mall of Asia- They had a sale there once and it was just like shopping haven. Though it is a little crowded.

6. Glorietta- I'm here almost every Monday. Whoa! A whole lot of people comin at ya.

7. Trinoma- did I spell it right? Anyway, never been there but my mom told me it was a breeding ground for mosquitos. A lot of nice shops. TOYS 'R US!!!!!!! That is soooooo cute!!!!! I've never seen one except abroad. That's so cool.

I'm tired so I'm gonna give it a rest.

A whole lot of interesting things happened to moi over the season. It's getting boring already because school's gonna start pretty soon. I heard we were getting a new English teacher. That's just sad. I like Ms. Platon. Never been her student but I heard she was good. I'm gonna miss Ms. Salvador too. She's sooo funny. I'm gonna miss Sandigan, Ms. Lagud a lot of the 2nd year teachers.

Am I the only one excited about our term paper? (Is that what its called?) Hahaha... Am so gonna right about Politics or perhaps the Dark Ages.

I'm excited about prom!!! Don't know how to pull it out. Guess, I'm gonna have to work extra hard this year!!!

Gotta get into Stanford....

It's really getting hot!!!!! Too hot! ABout 75 degrees!!! Haha, just messin with ya.

I've been troubled with the Music Shows, Myx in particular. It is just so behind in terms of its music.

Thanks for the Memories started airing in the States back in March or April. They're just showing it now. A lot of people don't even know it yet. Bummer.

Haha, the video is funny. It's Kim Kardashian and a bunch of monkeys who wished they just got Panic! instead. Hahaha.

My brother has this weird obssession towards Guns 'n Roses. I like Fall Out Boy. Our neighbors got mad because of the loud music.... Hahahaha!

Oh yeah! I was at school yesterday and Ms. told us that the school's sanitation was okay by the department of Ed.'s standards.. Haha, Ed has a department.... anyway, I just saw right before I was leaving, a skinny cat and in its mouth was this huge beige or brown rat... What the hell was that>?Q?!?>??#M!^

Anyway, we have a SCHOOL bus and not a school bus but really, one of those big buses with our name on the side.... It's pretty cool... Plus we have surveillance cameras hidden. This is sooo real!!! HAHAHA

I really have problems with the names Agamemnon, Flamenob (pronounced Flame-Knob) and Gaylord (from the movie Meet the Fockers) HAHAHAHAHHHA!!!!!!!! Can't stop laughing!!

Okay, that's it. I'm just gonna watch Ian play God of War now.

See ya, Wouldn't wanna be ya.

Why frogs ought to be falling from the sky...

Who watches Search for the Next Doll?????

WINNER: Asia

Why she won: Better song choice
Why she shouldn't have: She ain't all that!!!!

Why Melissa R. should win: she performs so well, she sings better, she's prettier than Asia, and she's Filipino... :D

Asia and her stupid pitchy voice with the stupid hand thing she does...... I stay up until 10 just to find out that Melissa R. doesn't win!!!!!

Asia: You know it's hard being a single mom and all that. I'm doing this for my child....

Yaddah-yaddah-yaddah......

PATHETIC!!!!!!

Melissa R. is better than all of PCD put together anyway.... minus Nicole, that is.

Terry's MEGA Hitz

Dude!!!! Awesome!!!

Killing time

I am so bored to the bone! Therefore, I'm gonna be wasting my seconds and probably yours by flipping through tv channels and saying whatever comes to my mind

1. Today
- Virginia Tech massacre: Come on!!!!! What is wrong with the psychopaths who shoot them innocent students????? It's so God damn messed up! What they need is a trip to the shrink and probably a bag of prozac.

2.WWE
- Personally, I've outgrown wrestling. But from time to time, I still find myself enjoying it. So the match is between Melena/Melina, Victoria, Candice and Mickey James. Could they be more fake?????? First of all, you use your fist and not your arm to punch. Stupid Skimpy outfits....

3. Why Can't I be You?
- OOOOH>.... I love this show.... :P

Other stuff...

Okay, so I've seen 10 things i hate about you a thousand times and I still can't get over the poem Kat made or the time when Heath Ledger sang... wasn't that so romantic???? Well, here's Kat's poem which is equally heart-stopping.

Kat's 10 Things I Hate About You
I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair.
I hate the way you drive my car.
I hate it when you stare.
I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind.
I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme.
I hate the way you're always right.
I hate it when you lie.
I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry.
I hate it when you're not around, and the fact that you didn't call.
But mostly I hate the way I don't hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

I'm gonna be a junior in the fall. I don't even know what Im gonna be in the future! Some people are so lucky coz they already know what to take. I told my mom I wanna go to flight school. Be a pilot or something. Really, I wanna be one. She said no so, tss.... That's as far as it went. I'm having second thoughts about being an oncologist. I like helping people but the sight of blood makes me wanna faint. UgH!!!!! I hate growing up.

Contrary to hating growing up is loving it..... Being a junior revolves around the height of the social calendar which is PROM!!!!! I'm gonna be planning the prom so, good luck to me. If you wanna be in prom committee, holler. Crap, Internet connection is messed up. So anyway, there you go.

Interaction!!!!!!!!! With Brent!!!!! No, just kidding. That's one dream we can't fulfill.

Prom, Prom, Prom...

Here's a weird thing... I've been having dreams lately. About this one person. I know him but he doesn't know me. He's made about 3 appearances already... Haha, freaky.

I love mac 'n cheese

Make Green Day have a concert here!!!!!

Most boring summer ever!!!!!!!

Lalalalalala

Thinking of going to Dartmouth or perhaps Stanford.... impossible... is nothing

Good luck to me..... This school year is gonna be the hardest one....

OMG.... I broke a nail.... I HATE THAT LINE..... superficial wannabes

I hate wannabes and posers.... They make my feet itch.... lmao

You know what would be good right now???? if snow fell down

Why in the name of cream cheese and pie is it so hot!!!!!!

Why???? WHY??????? WHY?????????????? ANSWER ME!!!!

Hahahha..... getting high with the powers of heat and stuff

Say, talk about the heat.... My brother was watching Pokemon and the episode was shot in a fricking hot volcano.... How cold is that?????

I love ice.

I love sleeping............ and dreaming....

I love love.

I hate boredom.../ who doesn't???

I can speak French now!!!!! Isn't that cool?

No, I'm not gonna type in French.

Looking for a prom date.... Mine just went out of the vicinity of Asia until an undisclosed period of time...

WAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!

Still IN LOVE with Leonardo Di Caprio

Watched Bend It Like Beckham.... The Irish guy is cute... :D

Hihihihi....

Is this entry too long???

Hihihi.... im hearing voices......

Nope, its just the TV.....

SoOoooOOOooo Bored!!!!!! Must do something!!!!!!

SOoOOoooooOO Lazy!!!! Can't do anything!!!!!!

I love jokes, do you have one????

End Transmission

Nuh-uh

Paris Hilton's new boytoy is H.O.T.

He's the guy in Desperate Housewives

No, not Jesse

The nephew of Edie is what I meant

:P

That's all for now...

PIECE OF GODFORSAKEN CRAP!!!

Okay, so I'm sitting on my chair and I just finished typing my latest entry.... GOD DAMN!!!! Anyway... I saw some stuff wrong with my blog... Don't bother to look at it... pLEASE!!!!! If you know me you'd know what it is.... OH! the mediocrity!!!! OH! the inferiority!!!! NOOOO!!!! OKAY, after this, im gonna edit this stupid piece of... look at the next entry...

Letters from Iwo Jima

I'm not much of the crying kind of girl. Don't get me wrong, I cry. Just hit me with a sledge hammer and tears will come rolling down. Anyway... movie review: Letters from Iwo Jima... I cried when I saw that heart-wrenching gut-gripping drama. IT IS SOOOOOO GREAT!!!!! It makes King Kong look like Stuart Little and 300 look like a pack of Cheetos (forgive my comparisons) and The Last Samurai look like the Sesame Street. I URGE YOU GUYS TO WATCH THIS FILM. I had to take 5 breaks just to get tissue (my brother got 'em for sanitary reasons :P) Dude... just watch this film. It'll make you cry, and it'll make the dead come back to life... (pure nonsense on my part... sorry)

Anyway.... as for the weekend.... may I say, it isn't just the weather that was hot hehehe..

Sadness... Ultimate Baggage!

Really really really hate this day... Its supposed to be my birthday but my irritating brothers keep agg-ing me. So not cool! My mom, so busy and frantic about our rooms practically forgot about today. I really hate it! Awhile ago in school, i was so stressed out! I couldn't even get time for myself. Some irresponsible people ruined my day. DUDE! MAJOR DISASTER! Today was supposed to be my quincinera! Thanks a lot!!! I'm sleepy and I haven't studied for Filipino yet. Thanks a lot to music! Erh-hus and stuff. I ain't even gonna remember these things. The school should have more practical tests in that area and less written ones. Honestly, it just doesn't make sense!!!!!

On the bright side, thanks Ms. Lagud!!! You are one of the best advisers I've ever had. Thanks for your patience. Thanks for greeting me. Thanks to all of the teachers and to my classmates. Thanks, Peri for that medley of birthday greetings. To my clique mates, you guys rock! To my section, although the load was stressful and the road was rough, you guys rule...!!! Anyway moving on... Bigger things next year. Bigger range to handle, more fish to fry... just kidding... OH YEAH! Thanks to Lucy. Even though you haven't been my classmate, thanks a lot for remembering. Thanks for the slice o' pizza! Okay... seriously.... I have got to start studying!!!! Batch 2009-2010... a.k.a. our batch... thanks for electing me!!! I will make sure you and your prom dates... whoever they may be... will have a lot of fun!!!

Overall thought: The road to salvation always begins with a multitude of hardship.

I saw, I conquered and I won.... at school. At home? Still feeling ALONE and LONELY... so much for family fun... :(

Thanks for the memorable birthday... Ill never forget it.

Thank God Im not 18

Why am I thanking God? Well, the biggest of my pleasures is that I won't get to vote. Seriously, The candidates of this election suck. We've got the trapos at one side (traditional politicians... a.k.a. old withering minds... just kidding) and the young hot blooded on the other (examples: Alan Peter Cayetano and Francis Escudero) Here's my take on the candidates...

Let's start with Cayetano
=All I here is BLAH BLAH BLAH... seriously, SHUT UP!... Oh what? what? I'm sorry, I can't here you... Just Shut up okay?

Next up is Manny Villar
= Pick a side and freeze!!!! Okay??? It's not a casino where you can gamble on either side!!! Choose, administration or opposition.

Let's talk about Francis Escudero
= Here's another blabber mouth. All you can do is speak against Gloria. I don't like her either but the least you can do is make one law!!!! You're in the congress for crying out loud!!!

Sonia Roco
= I saw your interview with Boy Abunda and I gotta say, you're smart. But stop using Raul Roco as your campaign ad. Its getting kinda old. You know. With Miriam and her whole Spiritual commercial thingy... You gotta stop the sentiments

GO (the whole running opposition)
= I hope nobody votes for you because... YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE A PLATFORM FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!! You only want Gloria out. Thanks a lot for helping the country!!! But Gloria is the least of our problems

I give props to:

Kiko Pangilinan
= He stands up for what he believes in. You know. The whole I ain't rooting for GMA but I ain't opposition either. You did a good thing by not joining GO

Ralph Recto
= Thanks for making the e-vat law... i think its splendid... yuck, who uses that word?

Joker Arroyo
= You're the smartest smart ass out there. Strategy: He ain't opposition but he criticizes. And he doesn't say BLAH BLAH BLAH... like the other guys do...

AS I SAID, thank God I ain't 18. Thank God I ain't 17. Choose wisely Filipinos. You've got no choice.

Today's adventure

I soooo love my section! The last three periods were full of laughter, laughter and more laughter!!! This is gonna be preeetty short... I'm not in the mood right now. Here are some "words of wisdom" note: in quotation marks

SR: TM(As in Touch Mobile) = Tabon Man

Class: on Globe Boycott

SR: Instead of Iniwasto ni, iniwasto ng was what she wrote...

Okay, I maybe a little shallow or crazy. If you ain't laughin, its just that you had to be there. All 42 of us, laughing our hearts out with our teacher.

....Heaven is here.... Heaven is here.... Heaven is here....Heaven is here....For heaven is here in my heart...

Don't play with matches

1st.... Dont ever assume anything... 64KLB... you guys are the best!
2nd... it takes a long time to make a friendship and 2 minutes to break it up...
If you are reading this (to the 2 people who dissed me) thanks a lot... now at least I know

Friends at times are big jerks its just a matter of who, when and where

PLEASE READ THE SECOND ENTRY :) [for those other readers]

And as for you, the most recent diss-er (not in my class). You no longer are considered a close friend of mine. As far as I am concerned, you are just an aqcuaintance. You owe me a lot as it is. You fail to see the good things I have done. I accept you for your flaws and hypocrisy but what of mine? You coat them with lies then bundle 'em up and throw them all at me. ALL AT ONCE. Thanks for repaying me with a lot of burden and emptiness.

PLEASE READ THE SECOND ENTRY :) [for those other readers]

It is true that friendship knows no bounds. But friendship is neither celebrated alone nor worked on by oneself. This is an official goodbye. You are not and will never be considered trustworthy or of the same class. You might have known by now that you have brought this upon yourself and have stooped down to the level which is even lower than some people I hold only as friends. You of whom trust seems like a natural thing have betrayed even yourself as you have failed to live up to your principles. I have but one thing to say to you. Don't play with matches because trust me, you will not be able to withstand the heat.

PLEASE READ THE SECOND ENTRY :) [for those other readers]

The Internet is a load of crap...

Haha... gotcha! Just getting your attention... What is wanted to say was, we have an exhibition debate going on at English week. You get to decied what we debate on. You can even suggest some new topics! Vote now or else your gonna hear a lot about NAFTA, GMO or even CERN. Muhuhuhahahahahah!!!! (Evil genius laugh)
THBT= This house believes that
1. THBT branded is better
2. THB in the survival of the fittest
3. THBT the Spaniards (or the Americans or Japanese) owe us....... big time
4. THBT the internet destroys our minds
5. THBT political dynasties should end
6. THBT we should talk straight ( internet and text language )
7. THBT Osama bin Laden is a genius (as suppose to being crazy)

Dont worry, its a pro-con thing... Dont be biased!!! Choose because its gonna be fun not boring.

10 reasons why and why im not and a whole bunch of other stuff

WHY I AM HAPPY
1. I got candy... and lots of it.
2. No classes today
3. Got lots of sleep
4. I saw the cute kid from the last samurai, Higen. Not a crush. He just reminded me of my cousin.
5. Saw a really really cute guy at an undisclosed area who smiled at me
6. Saw another really really really cute guy at another undisclosed area in an undisclosed event who smiled at me again
7. Got through 1st soccer module
8. Kicked ass and soccer ball in the exhibition
9. Went on a vacation
10. Bought 2 shirts (really cute) worth 30 bucks each. Not in a flea market or a garage sale.

WHY I AM NOT HAPPY
1. I was so annoyed during the weekend
2. My fair experience got cut short.
3. I nearly had cardiac arrest due to some ride that is apparently "kiddie"
4. I haven't finished anything I'm supposed to do.
5. Someone and somebody are becoming more distant (not from school or home...technically)
6. Got a headache from all that candy
7. My brother is soooo nice... which bugs me
8. The weather is so sad.

What's the matter with the world?

I just want to say, stop hating because you ain't good at what I know how to do. (This is dedicated to a person I overheard recently. This expression of concern is already late since the actual occurence happened a few days ago.) What is so wrong at being good at one thing. Everyone is good at something right? Then why can't I be good at whatever it is I'm good at without people, no sorry, You judging me? This also goes for all the people who experience what I am going through right now. Nothing serious. Just irritation going through. Anyway, you may not know what I am talking about now. Can't tell what it is. People might pass by here and spruce up the place with their blabbing. Oh, such nonsense blabbing. Waste of energy. Just read some books, maybe the thesaurus or the dictionary and you'll finally be getting what I'm going through once you open your mouth... For people who get this post, congratulations. You may be just one of those people who are good at blank blank. That's is. Ciao for now... (Hey it rhymes!)

Sunny side up please...

Contrary to my blog's introduction, let's veer off from the glum normalcy and look into the brighter side of life. Who loves Amazing Race Asia??? Well, I do. From where I come from, at school that is, only 5 people watch it. I'm now spilling my guts to you guys who I wish, know this show. Anyway, who's your favorite? Don't tell me. I know this one. MARDY AND MARSIO. They're smart, they're funny and they look like oversized marshmallows. Who knew they'd get this far. Last night, I watched the newest episode. I was screaming my guts out. They flew in last at the pit stop but, for the love of cream cheese and pie, it was a non-elimination leg. I wish Zab and Joe Jer get eliminated next. Sorry guys, I like Andrew and Syeon and if I don't keep Sandy and Francesca in, Sandy might kick my butt. So, here I am crossing my fingers and toes for Mardy and Marsio Juwono. Here are some funny things the M n M brothers said during the race... (copy and paste basis. Not my fault if there are too many typographies)

Mardy Says: we r broke, yeah he eats too much (marsio's stomach is rounder than mardy's) ^^

Marsio: "Mardy... My legs are hurting...". He says that in every episode with Indonesian accent

Marsio: ... all d jumping ..... u do it, all d eating.....i'll do it!!! (c'mon Marsio..give Mardy a break hehehehe... ;)

That's it for now... GO MNMS!!!

A Piece of Mind

Who would win in a fight between Spongebob and Squarepants? If you answered this, congratulations! You are now a certified moron. But if you said, no, it's the same yellow dude, fate has looked upon you with sadness. You are smart. Bum bum bum... Anyway. Which would win a fight between the east and the west? Let's see
1. Economically
East: China, Japan, India, Singapore
West: Germany, Spain, France, Italy
(Our neighbor just got robbed. So as I was typing, they were getting robbed... Cool. First Magdalo then this... great. now you know me)
2. Intelligence-wise
East: Russian Mafia (serious), PLO (serious), North Korea... all renegade but possibly
friendly
West: CIA (we're better), Interpol (oooh... scary), Italian Mafia, G something something
3. Manpower
East: Duh! Biggest continent
West: Damn! More continents
4. Money
East: Arab nations and Marcos wealth... :P
West: 1st world countries
More to come soon. I wanna see how the robbery is going... :P What is happening to our subdivision? Seriously, it kinda sucks.

Sarcasm

Everyone hates a sarcastic person. Everyone doesn't get sarcasm. Everyone doesn't even know what it means. Everyone=uncool people. Who am I kidding? I love sarcasm! Why? I don't know. You figure it out. My kind of humor is the sarcastic one. My seatmates love it, my friends from Jupiter love it and Lord knows I can't get through the day without one of 'em you earthlings call a joke. Anyway, veering from the long introduction which is kind of a pain in the tushy, (Oooh. I used the word tushy. Tushy, tushy, tushy) do you know House? This does give away my identity. For all you people who now know me, shhhhh. I don't wanna get scolded at by my parents. And you know why! Going back. House. Funniest medical sitcom there is. Oh yeah, I don't really care for other Medical shows so I'm making this one my best since there is no comparison. Why is this the best? Watch it. What kind of teenage propaganda is this? Oh yeah, and Dr. Robert Chase is cute (love the accent.. now that is so true). Just a little heads-up. Okay. Onto more important things.... AAAAAAH!!!! Can't think of anything. All I hear is Dr. Robert Chase Dr. Robert Chase Dr. Robert Chase. By now you'd assume that my fingers are swelling. :P Good luck to a certain section performing a certain production in a certain day of the week. I know we are going to do just fine. Tss... yeah right. No chance in hell. Still love you guys. Bonding is fun if you give a little love. Holler if you love cheesecake! This is a certain earthling signing off.

Breaking and Entering

I was sitting in my room and flipping through the channels when I came across a documentary I really liked. Fahrenheit 9/11. For those of you who don't know, Fahrenheit is one of the more tell-it-like-it-is documentaries. It hits you with truth on your face about 9/11, Al-Qaeda and George Bush. Michael Moore, although highly criticized, is I believe, a very opinionated man. Where others find distaste in his work, I found answers.

Honest as I am I looked at the war on terror as I look at everything else. Black and white. Good and Bad. The Iraqis are bad and the Americans are good. I was wrong. Thanks to Fahrenheit, my eyes were opened. Bush, I believe is the mastermind of this whole orchestration on the disaster in which they call the war and which I call a massacre. A massacre of Iraqi civilians and American soldiers who believed they were fighting for a cause. Democracy. Well, let me tell you Mr. President. The only reason why you ever wanted a war was because of O.I.L. Don't get me wrong, I do not praise Iraqi extremists and terrorists but mind you there is a difference between civilian and militia. Bush here, is fighting the same war his father's been fighting. He wants this war for personal gain. He says he wants to free Iraq from Saddam Hussein. Well, news flash, Saddam is already dead. You wanna tell me when you're getting your troops out? That ain't gonna happen will it? Because of the ignorance of his decisions, young men and women are getting killed out there. Young men and women who happen to be sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters. All for the sake of money. Well, if that's okay for Bush, it might be okay for North Korea to bomb Saudi Arabia and get their oil too right? But, no. America wants to be 'the good guys'. They want to 'help' Iraq by disarming them and such. Let me tell you this. Taiwan has a better government and they aren't even a legitimate country. My advice to Bush is, quit and don't let your family ever run for a position at government. The trouble with you Bushes are, you just can't get your hands on enough money can ya. So you have to find something wrong with the economy of another. Well, NEWS FLASH! You ain't as powerful anymore. Looks like China and India are going to get an upperhand. My advice to Americans: stop sending your kids to Iraq, vote for a Democrat and keep on sending money to our little country. Lord knows how much we're in debt.

Hellz Yeah!

Hellz Yeah!

FuNnY!

I was just going over my blog. I gotta say, It's kinda funny when someone reads her own thoughts...
